First Au Appoints Robert Archer As Company President

FIRST AU STRATEGIES CORP. (TSX-V: FAV) (the "Company") is pleased to announce the appointment of Robert A. Archer, P. Geo., B.Sc. Geology (Honours) as President of the Company.

Mr. Archer has been a Director of First Au for the past two years and was responsible for the acquisition of the current property portfolio, including the past-producing Argosy Gold Mine in the Red Lake District and the high-sulphidation silver-gold-copper Thorn Property in northwestern British Columbia.

During his twenty-two year career, Mr. Archer has held various positions with Placer Dome Canada Ltd., Noranda Exploration Inc., Rio Algom Exploration Inc. and Newmont Exploration of Canada Ltd. and was formerly vice-president of exploration, then president and director of another junior exploration company. He has conducted exploration for gold, base metals, nickel, platinum group metals and uranium in various regions of Canada, USA, Mexico and Indonesia.

Mr. Archer's geological experience covers the full range of project generation and acquisition through to open pit and underground mining environments. He has participated in and/or supervised 4 positive feasibility and pre-feasibility studies in Canada and Mexico, including those at the Dome (14+ million ounces Au), Musselwhite (3.5 million ounces Au) and Holloway (>1 million ounces Au) Mines in Ontario.

In his role as President, Mr. Archer will combine his technical and management skills with his extensive network of mining industry contacts to implement the Company's strategy for becoming a significant player on the Canadian exploration scene.

Mr. Archer was instrumental in closing First Au's recent private placement for gross proceeds of $1,370,700. The Company is now debt-free and the funds will be used principally for exploration on the Argosy and Thorn Properties.

With Mr. Archer's appointment, Mr. Bryan Frost will become Executive Chairman of the Company. Mr. Kaare Foy will continue as Director & CFO, Richard Revelins as non-executive Director and Ms. Wendy Ratcliffe as Company Secretary.

For further information please contact Kaare Foy, Director, at telephone 604 608 1766, or fax 604 608 1744, or e-mail oceanic@telus.net.

ON BEHALF OF THE BOARD
